Gastric Attack

Yesterday was a bad day for me because I was so called under attack by gastric pain.I was diagnosed with this disease last year. Before this I'm a young healthy girl with no disease but now I'm the girl with a disease perhaps there will be no 2 3 4 or 5 more diseases to come.Perhaps...perhaps...Through my experiences in dealing with gastric, I could state it was horribly painful and ugly.I couldn't sleep whole night although I already took my "no healing effects" medicines. The suffering hour was prolonged until dawn. The pain took place at my upper abdomen (below the ribs and above the navel) which is sometimes I could feel it protracted to my  vertebrae. The causes?? People always mention that a person suffers from acidity when his/her diet, eating timings and lifestyle is not healthy and perfect. Due to hectic life, people go for unhealthy food which is heavy on the digestion process therefore leading to acidity. How fact those opinion were? I think we should refer to those article that I read.Lets check it out.

WHAT IS GASTRIC PAIN??
Gastric pain is centered in the upper abdomen, and the pain varies from a dull ache to severe, throbbing pain. It does sometimes associate with symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea etc.Gastric pain could be a signal that there are more serious conditions that need attention or you need a change in lifestyle. Gastritis can be improves quickly with treatment. However, if leaves untreated, it could lead to stomach ulcer and eventually stomach cancer.
THE SYMPTOMS
Abdominal Pain
Abdominal pain is the most common symptom of a gastric ulcer. This pain can be burning, gnawing or aching, and it might feel similar to hunger pains. The pain occurs anywhere between the navel and the breastbone, and occasionally spreads to the back. The most common location for gastric ulcer pain is just beneath the rib cage on the left side of the body. Gastric ulcer pain frequently attacks within two to three hours of eating a meal but can also occur at night when the stomach is empty.
Indigestion
Another common gastric ulcer symptom is indigestion, which typically involves a burning sensation in the middle of the chest. This indigestion can make a gastric ulcer sufferer burp, belch or hiccup quite frequently. Some gastric ulcer patients feel a slight choking sensation during a bout of indigestion. The indigestion usually disappears after taking an acid reducer or an antacid. This symptom is frequently mistaken for simple heartburn or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Other Symptoms
Gastric ulcer patients can suffer from a host of other symptoms, including headaches, dizziness, light-headedness, fatigue, weakness and pale skin. Gastric ulcers occasionally produce scar tissue that obstructs the passage of food through an individual’s digestive tract. This can cause the patient to vomit frequently or feel quite full after eating very little. Some individuals report feeling bloated after eating, while others complain of significantly decreased appetite levels. All of these factors can cause unintentional weight loss.
Bleeding Gastric Ulcers
Bleeding gastric ulcer can trigger less common but potentially more serious symptoms. A bleeding ulcer can cause a patient to throw up bright red blood or to vomit digested blood that looks similar to brown coffee grounds. A bleeding ulcer might also cause a patient to pass stools that contain dark red blood or to pass black stools that look like tar. All of these are signs of a severe gastric ulcer. Any individual suffering from these symptoms should schedule an appointment to see a doctor as soon as possible.

WHAT GASTRIC  CAN LEADS TO???
Gastric cancer is also known as stomach cancer.Stomach cancer takes many years to develops before a true cancer develops, pre-cancerous changes often occur in the lining of the stomach. There is no any symptoms on starting stage of Gastric cancer or they can be vague and non-specific — such as nausea or weight loss
The most common affects of gastric cancer is adenocarcinoma which develops in glands of the innermost layer of the stomach.Gastric cancer or Stomach cancers can spread in different ways. They can grow through the wall of the stomach and invade nearby organs. In this sense, gastric cancer occurs when cells in the lining of the stomach grow uncontrollably and form tumors that can invade normal tissues and spread to other parts of the body.
They can also attack to the lymph vessels and nearby lymph node.. Its is really hard to diagnose Gastric ulcer in early stage. Indigestion and stomach discomfort can be symptoms of early cancer. When the Gastric cancer becomes more advance, it can spread (metastasize) to organs such as the liver, lungs, and bones through the bloodstream.
There are about 9,000 new cases of Gastric cancer diagnosed every year in America and it’s more common in men, particularly in late middle age.22,800 new cases of stomach cancer were diagnosed in the United States, and 14,000 Americans died of the disease.
Oh my God...I wont become one of them...........:(

  4. Thank you for sharing. I had my 6th gastric attack/episode 2 nights ago. It really is the most painful experience and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. What upsets me the most is that no one does anything to relieve your pain. Any time I have gone to the hospital they've just left me there yelling in agony, telling me what it is and ride it out.

My pain gets so bad I am shaking, heart palpitating, swearing and I vomit after some hours from the pain. Horrible.

I can not get in to see a gastroenterologist until 3 weeks away. It really frustrates me that these specialists are so difficult to access. Hopefully I can have a gastroscope and get to the bottom.

It has been 2 full days now and I am still in so much pain. I look 5 months pregnant, I can't get dressed. The dull, nawing pain is still there.

Can you tell me if your attacks last this long? I'm scared it's something more 😔

What do you do to prevent attacks? To lessen pain when having an attack?

    Thank you

  5. OMG I'm in my second day of my attack and truly wanna jump off a bridge. Not only the pain but the bloat and the tenderness afterwards. I vomited bout 2 times for relief which eventually makes you hurt worst. I hate that it hurts so bad you can't even sleep through it and I'm so thirsty but water hurts. I am bout to take a pain killer to see if i can at least sleep.
